Preston Family Resource Network
We are a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization located in Kingwood, WV. The vision of the FRN is to develop a community-based, family focused, comprehensive system, which responds to identified needs through cooperative, collaborative planning efforts.
The mission of this non-profit organization is to bring together the resources of agencies, civic organizations, businesses and individuals who strive to help Prestonians. We are a forum of caring people who work together to improve the conditions for all children and families of Preston County. Family Support Center
Formerly known as Starting Points, the Family Support Center (FSC) is a family education and support program for children and families ages birth to eighteen and funded through DHHR/BCR. The program promotes literacy, child development, health and nutrition, child abuse and neglect prevention, parenting skills and family support services. Activities include weekly playgroups in two different locations in the county, a baby swap, baby pantry, community events, the Dolly Parton Books project, United Way Shaken Baby Syndrome program and Books for Babies Project.
Preston/Taylor Parents as Teachers
The Parents as Teachers Program is a home-visitation program for all families with kids prenatal to kindergarten entry. We focus on school readiness and helping children meet developmental milestones, we help parents connect to resources in the area that can assist you with food, utilities etc…, we offer free monthly events for community members to connect with each other that are family focused, educational and fun! There are no income guidelines! One visit required per month, about 60 minutes. Visits typically take place in your home! Our parent educator can also meet you virtual or at a park, library etc.

The Parent Resource Navigator is a court ordered program that gives parents and children one last chance to be reunited.

Provides a friendly supportive environment where anyone in a parenting role can openly discuss the successes and challenges of raising children – a place of support.

Healthy Grandfamilies
Healthy Grandfamilies is a free initiative led by West Virginia State University to provide information and resources to grandparents who are raising one or more grandchildren.

Food for Preston
Food for Preston has been helping the hungry in Preston County, WV since 1985. We work to secure food, funding, and volunteers for 11 food pantries, the backpack program, and the school stores program.
